What we do
We're a nail salon first — gel and no-chip manicures, spa pedicures, dip powder, acrylic full sets and fills, and custom nail art make up most of what walks through the door. We also do eyelash extensions — classic, hybrid and volume — which is less common on this stretch of Mall Rd and is the reason a lot of clients consolidate two appointments into one visit here.
How we work
- We tell you what will actually hold. If gel has been failing on you at day nine, the useful answer is to switch you to dip powder, not to sell you another gel set. That conversation takes two minutes and saves you a wasted appointment.
- We quote before we start. Nail art is priced by complexity, so you hear the number before a brush touches a nail. Nothing appears on your total that you didn't agree to.
- We prep properly. Longevity is decided in the first ten minutes of an appointment, not the last. Clean prep, thin coats cured separately, and a capped free edge are the difference between eight days and twenty.
- We don't over-file. Nail damage from enhancements comes from grinding into the nail plate during prep and from prying product off during removal. Neither is necessary and we don't do either.
Credentials
- Licensed technicians. Every nail technician working here holds a current Kentucky nail technician license, and the salon holds a current establishment license. Both are issued by the Kentucky Board of Cosmetology and displayed on the wall, as state law requires.
- Specialists, not generalists. Our technicians work in gel, dip powder and acrylic every day. Sculpting an acrylic coffin set well is a skill that degrades without repetition, which is why we would rather do a lot of them than a little of everything.
- Hands-on advice. The recommendations across this site come from what we see hold up and fail on real clients in Florence, not from a product catalog.
You can verify any Kentucky salon or technician license through the Kentucky Board of Cosmetology. We would encourage you to — including on us.
Hygiene and licensing
Files, buffers and other porous tools are single-use at Venus Spa Nails. Metal implements are cleaned and disinfected between every client, and pedicure bowls are disinfected with an EPA-registered hospital-grade product after each use. Kentucky licenses both salons and individual nail technicians through the Kentucky Board of Cosmetology, and licenses are displayed on the wall as required.
You are entitled to ask any salon how they handle this, and a good one answers without hesitation. We'd encourage you to ask — including at other salons.
Where we are
7921 Mall Rd sits on the Florence retail corridor, a few minutes south of Florence Mall, with free surface parking directly in front of the door. That matters more than it sounds: most of our clients fit an appointment inside an errand run, and not having to find a garage space is half of what makes that work.
We serve the whole of the Florence area and the towns around it. If you're coming from further out, our Erlanger, Burlington, Union and Hebron pages have directions and drive times, and the areas we serve page lists every one.
