Which pedicure should you book?

If you've never been in before, the Deluxe is the one most people are picturing when they say “a pedicure”. The Classic is a maintenance appointment rather than an experience — genuinely good value at $40, but it's twenty-five minutes, not an hour off your feet.

Adding gel to a pedicure

Adding shellac gel to any pedicure is $20, or you can book a Classic Pedicure with Gel Shellac at $55 or a Deluxe Pedicure with Gel Polish at $70. Gel is worth it on toes more than anywhere else: because toenails grow slowly and live in shoes, gel on toes holds four to six weeks against two to three for regular polish.

A French tip is $10, and an acrylic toe add-on is $15 if you need a toenail rebuilt.

Callus care and cracked heels

Callus work is done with a foot file and a softening solution, not a blade. Kentucky, like most states, prohibits credo blades in salons — for good reason. Removing callus surgically leaves an open wound waiting to happen. Filing takes the hard, cracked surface down gradually and safely.

Heels that have been neglected for a year won't come back in one visit, and any salon promising otherwise is either using a blade or overselling. Realistically, two pedicures three to four weeks apart plus a urea-based heel cream at home gets most people to genuinely smooth. The Paradise Pedicure at $55 is the one to book if this is the main reason you're coming in — the extra time goes into exactly this work.

Is the equipment sanitary?

Foot spa hygiene is the most important thing to ask any nail salon about, because improperly cleaned jets are how mycobacterial infections spread. Our pedicure bowls are cleaned and disinfected with an EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant between every client, files and buffers are single-use, and metal implements are disinfected after each use.

You're entitled to ask any salon how they clean between clients, and a good one answers without hesitating. If a salon can't tell you, that itself is the answer.

Kids, and when to reschedule

Kids' Pedicure & Gel is $50 for children — a shortened, gentler version with no cuticle cutting and no harsh product. A parent or guardian needs to stay in the salon for the appointment.

Please reschedule if you have an open cut, athlete's foot, a plantar wart or an unhealed wound anywhere on the foot or lower leg. Shaving your legs within twenty-four hours of a pedicure also opens micro-abrasions — leave a day's gap.

If you're diabetic, tell us before we start. We can absolutely do the service; we'll skip aggressive callus work and cuticle trimming entirely and keep everything conservative. That's standard practice, not us being difficult.
